Claudio Ethos is from São Paulo in Brazil, a concrete metropolis of 21.5 million inhabitants. He has a very detailed style, which derives from his preference for ballpoint drawings, a style that he also applies to murals using a figurative and abstract visual language. His influences include the work of the Brazilian twins OSGEMEOS. An important source of inspiration is the daily struggle that people have to endure in the city of his birth. However, this mural also has a connection with the Michelin-starred restaurant in this building. He often uses only one colour in variations. In this case the basic colours are red, blue, yellow and green, which are used very subtly on both the clothing and in the background.
Claudio Ethos is afkomstig uit São Paulo in Brazilië, de beton-metropool van 21,5 miljoen inwoners. Hij heeft een zeer gedetailleerd handschrift. Dat is afkomstig van zijn voorliefde voor balpen-tekeningen, een techniek die hij ook praktiseert bij murals, met een figuratief-abstracte vormentaal. Hij is o.a. beïnvloed door het werk van de Braziliaanse tweeling OSGEMEOS (zie nr. 38). Een belangrijke inspiratiebron is de dagelijkse strijd die de mensen in zijn geboortestad moeten leveren. Deze mural heeft echter een link met het sterrenrestaurant in dit pand. Hij gebruikt vaak maar één kleur in varianten, in dit geval zijn de basiskleuren rood, blauw, geel en groen heel subtiel gebruikt in kleding en achtergrond.
