Since 2012, Dourone from Madrid and Elodieloll have been life partners and a team. The task facing them in Heerlen was difficult. The ribbed wall was difficult to treat, but the use of spray cans resulted in an exciting combination. They always search for a specific objective for a certain location or time, what they call ‘art for humans’. They aim for a visual effect linked to respect, diversity, tolerance, sharing and freedom. This wall is 360 m2 in size. They started their work along the Spoorsingel, which prompted a resident of the Willemstraat to say: ‘let’s hope they continue around the corner’. The building used to be a miserable eyesore, this mural has clearly provided added value.
De uit Madrid afkomstige Dourone en uit Parijs afkomstige Elodieloll zijn sinds 2012 levenspartners en een team. Voor Heerlen werkten zij aan een lastige opgave. De geribbelde gevel is moeilijk te bewerken, maar in combinatie met de spraycan onstaat een spannende combinatie. Zij zoeken constant een specifiek doel voor een bepaalde plek of tijd, onder de noemer “art for humans”. Ze willen visueel effect hebben gelinkt aan respect, diversiteit, tolerantie, delen en vrijheid. Deze wand is 360 m2 groot. Ze begonnen met hun werk aan de Spoorsingel, waarop een bewoner van de Willemstraat verzuchtte: “hopelijk komen ze het hoekje om”. Het pand was eerst een droevige eyecatcher, met deze mural is er duidelijk waarde toegevoegd.
